No smoker needs to be told about the severe consequences that come with the habit. The information is clearly depicted on all tobacco products and our governments release data every year that shows the link between the consumption of cigarettes and heart disease. Everybody knows that smoking kills; but the problem is that to stop smoking is incredibly difficult.
Every tobacco product contains nicotine. This substance is known to be incredibly addictive; even more so than heroin and opium. Alongside the nicotine there are also hundreds of other toxic chemicals that we inhale every time we smoke a cigarette.
For any treatment to be successful it needs to break the nicotine addiction and the related cravings. Now there are many options available. The most popular six techniques can be found listed below.
Nicotine Replacement Therapy: This is still the most well known technique available for giving up smoking. It works by giving you a source of nicotine instead of a cigarette. This is usually in the form of a gum or patch. The negative aspect of this form of treatment is that even though you may not be using tobacco products it can still be difficult to end your cravings for nicotine.
Help groups: Most towns will now have evening classes or groups that can be attended to receive advice on help on quitting smoking. Through such groups you will be able to interact with other smokers who are in the process of quitting as well as listen to professionals who have many years experience of helping people break addictions.
Hypnotherapy: This is a fairly recent technique that is now known to help people to break any addiction. Hypnosis will work on your subliminal mind to minimize the cravings for smoking that you have. It is very safe and is carried out under a strict set of procedures.
Herbal Treatments: If you are after an all natural approach then maybe you should consider the herbal treatments that are now widely available. These are often preferable to nicotine replacement therapy as they will not leave you with an addiction to the gums or patches. Also most herbal products will give your overall health a big boost.
Meditation: Some people have discovered that they can stop any addiction through yoga and meditation. Such practices help to control the mind and lessen negative urges. Though not for everyone, they are gaining in popularity. Most towns will have courses and teachers available in yoga.
Cold Turkey: Known as being the least successful of all the stop smoking methods, cold turkey involves the complete removal of all tobacco products overnight. There are no replacements or supplements that are used. It requires sheer will power.
For any method to stand the best chance of success it is important to have the support of those people around you. With the right determination and attitude anyone can quit smoking for good.

The major problems that are associated with using tobacco are known by every individual smoker. There is no escaping the fact that there are a large number of health complaints that can be attributed to the addiction. But even with warnings, the habit is still often too strong to break. It has been proven that nicotine is amongst the most addictive substances known to man, maybe this is why it is put into tobacco. Most smokers will try various techniques to quit; today there is an exciting new option ‘ smokeless cigarettes.
This new product is also called an electronic cigarette. More smokers are discovering every month the relative ease in which the addiction to tobacco can be broken for good with this exciting technique.
The best methods that are known to help people break the strong addiction to smoking will work in both a physical and mental dynamic. When we breathe in tobacco smoke it is the nicotine that our body is after. Each time we light up, the nicotine we absorb into our bloodstream results in the body producing endorphins. These are what give us the nicotine high or rush. When you don’t smoke, your body still expects a high of endorphins.
For a remedy to be successful it needs to address the behaviour of nicotine in the body and also provide a mental solution. Smokeless cigarettes work on producing a solution for both these aspects. An electronic cigarette does not contain any tobacco though they look and feel like the real thing.
Smokeless, or electronic cigarettes, will release vapors that are to be inhaled. These actually do contain a small amount of nicotine. This is why they are so successful. Your body will be able to maintain the balance of endorphins that it has become accustomed to without the risk of exposure to the deadly cancer causing compounds that are contained in tobacco products.
By using smokeless cigarettes you will be getting the best of both worlds. No longer will you be at risk of a dizzying array of cancers and cardio vascular problems, and yet your body will still be kept topped up with nicotine so that you do not suffer any nasty withdrawal symptoms.
Over time you can gradually reduce your dependency on the electronic cigarettes until you are completely free of your addictions. If you cannot source any brand of smokeless cigarette in your local town then the best place to look is online. You can order as many products as you like that will be delivered straight to your door in only a few days.

All smokers all around the world will know about all of the negative effects that smoking has on the body. They will be only too aware of the problems associated with smoking and the fact that if you continue you may develop some serious conditions such as lung or throat cancer. Yet despite all of these warning many people will still fail to quit, not because they do not want to, but because they are not able to break the habit. In order to quit smoking there are certain steps that need to be taken and it effort needs to be wholehearted. Here are the main steps to quit smoking.
Firstly, you always need to make sure that you have set a date. When you are looking to achieve anything in your life you always need to have goals. In addition to this, by setting a date you will be able to to have your friends and family keep track of your progress as an extra incentive.
The next thing to do is to always make sure that you have distractions that will be able to take your mind off smoking. It is very likely that during any time that you are not busy your mind will immediately turn to smoking. As a result it is important that you always have things to do such as reading a book for any such occasion.
You should also make sure that you investigate your things and get rid of all of the things that will remind you of your smoking. You should check through all of your things and throw out all of your cigarettes, lighters, matches or anything else that may remind you of smoking.
In the same way you also need to ensure that you avoid places and people that remind you of smoking. When it comes to places this is a lot easier and you should make sure that any place that you used to commonly go to to smoke is avoided. When it comes to people this can be more tricky if your friends and family smoke but you should always aim to stay out of the way of any smokers as much as you can, hard as it might be.
As time goes by the addition will begin to fade and you will begin to see that you are starting to save quite a lot of money. One good idea is to save this all up and to treat yourself when you get to a certain level. This will act as a greater incentive for you to carry on with what you are doing.
If you find that it is not so easy to simply quit then you may also look to find support from elsewhere or use certain aids that will help you to give up. You may want to go to see your doctor to find out about any initiatives in the area that you will be able to get involved with. Support groups are great at helping you quit and you will be able to share your problem with a lot of others going through the same thing.
These are some of the steps that you should take to quit smoking. At the end of the day it is down to you and your willpower to successfully quit.
If you are a smoker you’ll know all about the numerous negative health effects it has. However, when you do come to the decision to quit you’ll be faced with quite a task. Here are the steps to quit smoking as well as best way to quit smoking.

I quit smoking four months ago, and have gained quite a bit of weight. I know I eat too much and I’m sure it’s because I am substituting smoking with food. Anyway, I worked out and dieted hardcore for over a month and nothing happened. Normally I lose weight relatively quickly if I am working my butt off at the gym and watching my diet. Is this lack of weight loss due to my quitting smoking? I smoked for 9 years.
