I know that if you don’t start, you’ll never be addicted to it. But if you quit smoking, is the urge to smoke much greater, does it get easier as time passes, is it really possible to be free of the addiction, or will it stay, make life hard forever?

I am not a smoker, but often come across people who are very “protective” of their choice to smoke. Why do people start smoking in the first place, then after a time, why do they want to quit?

I have smoked for 14 years and am trying again to quit cold turkey. This is the hardest thing in my life. Anyone ever quit smoking successfully? How is life now for you as a non smoker? Need advice! Thanks!
