Stop Smoking Naturally: Methods To Overcome Your Addiction

We as humans have devised some pretty unique ways to destroy ourselves. One of the most effective and ultimately one with serious addictive qualities is smoking. So many have tried to quit smoking and failed for one reason or another. But success in quitting can be achieved; it just requires the right mindset and a lot of perseverance. Every once and a while people pass around the stories of the person they know that just woke up one morning and quit smoking, and that was that. This is a rarity. You should know if you are smoker that intends to quit, you have a long hard road ahead of you. You can accomplish quitting, and you should consider a way to stop smoking naturally.

People are seeking out a more natural method for taking care of their problems anymore. This could be due in part to a rising cost of health care, and also in part to the uncertainty if many of the “miracle cures” work at all. It might be a harder road, quitting smoking in a natural manner, but you will find yourself free of the habit faster than with other options if you can stomach quitting in this manner.

The first method that one can go about quitting smoking naturally is quite possibly the most natural method of all. Stopping smoking “cold turkey” can be one of the hardest ways that one can kick the habit, yet it has been said that if someone can quit in this manner, it is the most gratifying of all of the means one could use to quit. Cold turkey means that you simply stop smoking. No pills, patches, or empty promises. You just stop lighting up.

This can be accomplished, but you have to use a lot of will power. You have to vow to yourself that you are giving it up for good. This is assisted by compiling a list of the most prevalent reasons for quitting that you have and using them to drive you through the cravings. You can overcome quite a lot with the power of positive thinking and the driving will of your most sacred treasures of living smoke free.

Another method in terms of natural remedies is taking a bit of St. John’s Wart at the onset of cravings. While the supplement has been used to date to handle minor depression issues, and has done so with much success, doctors have been studying its effects elsewhere on other conditions. Tests were conclusive in a study showing that St. John’s Wart considerable takes the edge off of cravings when attempting to quit smoking cigarettes. This made the cravings easier to handle, which consequently helped the individual conquer their addiction.

You have to take in plenty of water when you are trying to break free of your habit. This goes really for any substance addiction, as many of them leave behind harmful toxins that still effect the body and flushing these out through consistent intake of water will help. You can lessen the severity, and possibly even reduce the frequency of, your cravings if you flush out the destructive toxins that smoking leaves behind.

There are plenty of miracle cures to have you not smoking faster than any of the others. Every one has a hundred success stories, but it’s unlikely you know any of the success stories by name. They cost a lot and they actually, in many cases, keep you addicted longer than you need to be to mentally quit the habit as well. You see many of these solutions come with quick fix remedies to handle cravings. These often involve doses of nicotine to calm cravings, and that’s exactly what you are trying to get your body to steer clear of.

You can quit smoking and do so naturally. It’s not an easy road, and not everyone can do it. I urge you to at least try going at it naturally if you are attempting to quit smoking. You might find yourself done with the habit before others you know who have tried other quit smoking fast remedies.

Things to Do When You are Sick of Smoking

You would think the answer to that would be fairly obvious – you just quit! But I am afraid that would be the answer you’ve already heard from countless others who have either never smoked in the first place or have never successfully quit themselves.

So here is some advice from a smoker of twenty years who quit 10 years back.

So, when you are sick of smoking, the first thing for you to do is look at the reasons that led you to this point. You may want to quit because you have smoker’s cough; a serious health scare; desire a better environment for your children; or just want to quit for yourself because you know it is the right thing to do. Whatever the reason(s) you must realize that the desire to quit alone is not strong enough to help you quit. In fact, it is not enough for 97% of the people. Only 3% might be as desperate to take the jump regardless of the consequences.

If you belong to the majority, you need to think, plan and use a strategy to get rid of an old habit.

Before you attempt to quit, try to remove as much emotion from the process as it is humanly possible. You may be angry emotionally charged at the moment, but you won’t be able to maintain that level of anger or desperation long enough to see you through the quitting process.

Based on your reasons for quitting, search the internet for as much useful information as you can find. Fortify your reasons with relevant information because information is power. The more you know about the task at hand, the less hold the nicotine monster will have over you.

Once you have the desired information, buy a ’stop smoking program’ that addresses your concerns about quitting. Make sure the program is a step-by-step guide that gives you the resolve to beat this nasty habit.

And, for heaven’s sake, don’t stop here. Once you have got the program, please use it!

The mind will make hundreds of excuses to tell you that you can start using the program tomorrow. But tomorrow never comes. When it comes, it comes as today, and then you wait for the next day. Always remember, if you don’t start now, you probably won’t start at all. So, get the information you need – order a program – and start using it now.

Get the information you need, order a program and start using it at once. You’ll feel gratified as quitting smoking is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do in your life.

To your success,

Darren Warmuth

The Critical 72 Hours After You Stop Smoking

Feelings of fatigue, irritability and an extremely persistent headache are all side effects of nicotine withdrawal and are all perfectly normal. Why? Simply because it is in the first 72 hours which nicotine purges itself from your system – regardless of the stop smoking method you have chosen to use.

The good news is that if you prepare mentally for your stop smoking day, many of the symptoms will not make you feel like you have to lock yourself in a closet. Letting friends and family members know that today is your stop smoking day (if you feel they would be a help and not a hindrance) would be a good idea and since it’s common knowledge about how people act when they stop smoking, you may just get the house to yourself for the day.

Keep in mind, that by making plans in advance on how you are going to handle these symptoms, it can really help if they present themselves. What are you going to feel? What are the symptoms of withdrawal? You may want to include these things on your list:

Angry or agitated: I will find a task to take my mind off the fact that I can’t smoke.

Feeling overly emotional or sensitive: Find yourself some solitude and let the feelings out.

Feeling tired: I will allow myself to take a nap or lounge around for the day.

Feeling nauseated: I will drink a glass of water (helps with nausea, as do apples and ginger).

After I eat I will: Find something to do so I don’t crave the ‘after-dinner’ cigarette.

A really good way to help your body get rid of the nicotine within it is to drink lots of liquids. The more you drink, the faster your body will metabolize the stored nicotine within your system and the only side effect of this is a slouchy stomach and maybe a few more trips to the bathroom. The faster you can get the nicotine flushed out of your system, the sooner the withdrawal symptoms will be over, at least the physical ones.

There are a lot of theories as to what makes withdrawal symptoms worse or better. Some say that you should also give up caffeine when you stop smoking and there are others who found that it makes no difference in their case. If drinking beverages with caffeine in them makes you suddenly crave a cigarette, it is probably better to not to have any, or at the very least cut back.

However, giving up multiple vices at once can also be very stressful. So be wary and maybe just cut back on the caffeine to start. But be sure to use plenty of water, juices and even milkshakes to kick start your system and get those withdrawal symptoms out of the way.

A very common side effect during the first few nights is finding it difficult to fall asleep and then to sleep soundly. Even though you might have been exhausted throughout the day, when it’s time for bed it seems like everything is racing through your mind and you can’t get comfortable.

To help alleviate this, I recommend a hot shower before heading off to bed to help you relax. Usually the sleep deprivation only lasts for a night or two. However if it persists, I would suggest a visit to the pharmacy to pick up a sleeping aid until the restlessness passes. It won’t last forever.

End the Habit is proud to receive a 5-Star rating from SmokingReviews.org.

You Don’t Have to Quit Smoking Alone

Becoming a non-smoker can be a very isolated and lonely voyage if you let it be. The good thing is that it doesn’t have to be. Not when there is support available. This is one of the keys to success – whether you find your support via a local group, through your family or friends (be cautious here), or finding it online, it is crucial to your success.

One of the most available tools is an online support group for those who do not have time to locate ‘real’ people. Through the online groups, you can reach out and connect with others who are striving to quit or those who have already quit. Nothing helps you get through cravings and challenges like seeing that other people have or are experiencing the exact same things you are.

When searching out these forums, be sure to find one that has the differing stages of quitting smoking broken down so that you can go straight to the area which would help you most. Find the posts that coincide with the challenges you are facing at the time and again, you will find that others will have had challenges with the very same issues.

Family and friends, on the other hand, can be a blessing or a curse. They may feel that they are being ‘extra’ supportive by inquiring repeatedly on how you are doing, but this can become downright irritating and in worst cases, actually cause you to relapse.

Best to deal with this issue before you quit by having a quick conversation with friends and family. Ask them not to incessently query you about ‘how you are doing’ as with the withdrawal symptoms, it is possible that you will become more easily agitated. Help nip it in the bud before it happens.

One other option is a local smoking cessation meeting that is usually held at a community church, health care center, or sometime even a school. Most of these groups meetings are held either at no cost or very low cost, so everyone can attend.

Community support group meetings generally only last for an hour or so, but they are great place to make personal contact with others striving to become non-smokers. And it is this personal contact with a support buddy that could be just the help you need in staying smoke-free forever.

Whichever method you choose the chances for your success are greatly improved, by having a strong support system set in place, before your quit day. Making sure that you have utilized every tool that is available to you is only going to increase your chances of starting a new life as a nonsmoker.

Natural Ways That You Can Stop Smoking Without NRT

Smoking is highly addictive and you can become hooked on the nicotine high before you know it. There are many treatments available to quit smoking and one of the most marketed is pharmaceutical nicotine replacement therapy, which is commonly known as NRT. NRT can take a long time to work and it is often an expensive option. However, there are several effective treatments to stop smoking without NRT.

At chemists and drug stores you can pick up lozenges, tablets, patches, inhalers and gum that have nicotine in them. These work on the principle of replacing cigarettes with the treatment and they gradually reduce your intake of nicotine until you can quit completely. Often times smokers end up replacing their cigarette addiction with an addiction to the NRT and it takes a long time to get over it.

Choosing to quit smoking is one of the best things that you can do for your long term health. It is important that you manage to break the addiction and habit that smoking becomes and NRT may not be the best way to do it. Instead there are some natural ways that you can stop smoking without NRT and restore your health as soon as possible.

Lobelia is a herb that closely mirrors the chemical structure of tobacco and nicotine. You can take lobelia to reduce your cravings for a cigarette and it can also help to reduce your side effects from quitting such as moodiness and crankiness. Lobelia has a relaxing effect on the body, which is much needed when you are accustomed to smoking when stressed.

Nicotine saps the body of its vitamin C supplies, which is one reason that smoking can age your skin. Taking in high amounts of vitamin C when you are trying to stop smoking has been shown to help break the addiction and help to remove nicotine from your system.

Cayenne, a common spice, has also shown some very good results in helping people to stop smoking without NRT. You can sometimes find cayenne in capsule form, otherwise you can take it as a powder mixed with juice. Cayenne helps to fortify the lungs and prevent nicotine cravings.

Antioxidants such as Co-enzyme Q-10, grapeseed oil and vitamin E can help to restore lung capacity and health that has been sapped by smoking cigarettes. Oats and valerian have also been shown to have a positive effect on the nervous system and help calm irritability and sleeplessness as well as nicotine cravings in people that are trying to stop smoking without NRT.

There are many side effects that you can experience when you are trying to stop smoking without NRT. These can include irritability, moodiness, trouble sleeping as well as cravings and increased appetite. There are several berbal and natural treatments that can smooth the road to becoming a non smoker. This will leave you healthier and happier and able to live a long life in good health.

Ways to Quit Smoking

It’s difficult to quit smoking. Even those who were successful in their efforts will likely say it was incredibly difficult. There are a many methods to try and quit smoking. If you aren’t successful with one, try another. It’s imperative for your health (and the health of those around you)that you quit smoking as soon as possible. Always check with your doctor before starting any non-smoking program.

Most people who make up their minds to stop smoking decide to go cold turkey. This means that one day they just stop. Unfortunately, it seldom works. Strong willed people tend to think they can make it, but will power has little to do with the process. Nicotine is among the most addictive of drugs, which can cause you severe withdrawal problems. Some people are successful for a while when they quit cold turkey, but generally they start again soon.

Another option is to use nicotine gum or patches to slowly wean yourself off of your nicotine addiction. There are directions on the packages for use, and many people find this method a great way to quit smoking. This way you can also wean yourself off at your own pace. Be sure to follow directions on the package very carefully. The best idea is to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your plan. Some people do find this method unsuccessful because it does not satisfy the hand to mouth habit that smoking has developed. Unfortunately smoking usually becomes not only a physical addiction but a mental and emotional one as well.

Another option to consider is using medication to help you quit your smoking habit and nicotine addiction. Again, check with your doctor to discuss your options. Your doctor can prescribe a medication that is successful with few side effects. Of course, never take any medication that has been prescribed to someone else – the medication could adversely affect you or interfere with other medications you may be taking.

Quitting smoking is a lifelong process. Many people find the social habit of smoking hard to beat long after the nicotine addiction is gone. You may need to temporarily alter your lifestyle while trying to quit smoking. For example many people enjoy a cigarette with a drink with friends. This social habit can be difficult to break and you may want to avoid any of these pitfalls for a while when you are still in the process of getting over the nicotine habit.

If you are a smoker, talk to your doctor sooner rather than later. You can extend your life by quitting now and also avoid terrible diseases attributed to smoking. Be good to yourself, do it now.

You Are Able To Stop Smoking Without NRT

I do not smoke cigarettes because it would kill me. Believe me if I could get away with smoking I would. It was not like I loved smoking. But I enjoyed it. On that subject, did you know that the addiction to smoking is in your mind, your brain really. So the answer is yes you can stop smoking without NRT.

Nicotine inhaled into your system reaches the brain faster than any other drug except heroin and morphine. Good company right? Each puff you take is another stimulant to your brain. Sure there is a habit factor involved like lighting up, having something to hold in your hand, even going to the store to buy cigarettes. But the real addiction is in your mind, your brain actually.

You can stop a habit easier than an addiction. A habit like nibbling on your thumb nail can be broken with you realize it is a behavioral response. You might do this when you are nervous. Once you realize you are doing this you can figure out why you get nervous and then deal with it in a different way or you can choose not become nervous.

I quit cigarettes because I chose good health over poor health. I confess I was hardly a chain smoker. No I started here and there and stopped here and there.

Then I visited Europe and started smoking again. It is a lot more accepted to smoke in Europe than in the States. In fact it seems like most people in Europe smoke. While in the States it almost seems illegal to smoke with all the bans against smoking in public.

But when I was younger I started smoking when I got out of college. I did to because I used to go out drinking with friends who smoked so I smoked. After a few months I started playing basketball, just some little pick up games on the weekend. Normally I could run up and down the court with no problem. This time I was bent over gasping for air. No more cigarettes for me.

Years later I traveled throughout Europe. In Europe cigarettes are more prevalent than in the States. I took it up again. I decided when I returned home to light up occasionally like at our monthly poker game. And then I decided to have only one cigarette when I got home from work. I actually smoked my one cigarette in the bathroom. One particularly tough day at work I thought about smoking my one cigarette when I got home. Suddenly I felt good, my body and mind relaxed knowing that soon I would be puffing away in my bathroom.

I did not smoke a cigarette that day when I got home. I threw away the pack I had. I realized that once I looked forward to smoking I had a problem. And the problem was in my mind or my brain more specifically. Stop smoking without NRT by realizing that you have to overcome your own brain’s desire for nicotine. Do whatever you have to do to say no to your brain.

“Now A Painless Way To Quit Smoking Has Been Designed For Stubborn Smokers By Psychotherapist Stephen Richards”

Giving up nicotine addiction can lead to the bodily functions running out of control! Associated health risks of quitting smoking include an increase in weight, bad temper, misery and sadness. The medical fraternity prefer to ignore these additional health risks as they are not considered as life threatening as smoking is.

The countries in the Third World with the lowest tobacco consumption have some of the shortest life expectancies of its inhabitants! Throughout the’th and 20th centuries there is a reliable, worldwide relationship between rising tobacco consumption and rising life expectancy, nation by nation. Either you are a smoker or a non-smoker. There’s no in-between. Some can quit smoking with ease, whereas in other cases it can be a drawn out love/hate relationship.

The correlation between smokers who quit rapidly and the increased incidence of cancer amongst those quitters was discovered by doctors at the K.S. Hegde Medical Academy in Mangalore, India. Perhaps looking at how the now deceased stop smoking guru Allen Carr died may also offer up some support to these findings. After years of smoking and giving up rapidly Allen Carr died of cancer of the lungs! So do be warned, giving up instantly without the proper embedded commands being instilled into the mind can be hazardous.

Self-help therapist Stephen Richards clarifies why giving up smoking without first taking some precautionary steps can be chancy, “Tolerance levels to high dosages of nicotine and the related unhealthy by-products from smoking can build up a high degree of immunity within a smoker. Of course this comes about over a long period of time, so it makes sense that to stop suddenly can bring about certain physiological reactions that want to heal the body from what clogged its respiratory system up. This is when problems can occur. Stopping smoking in an uncontrolled manner can bring about certain reactions within the body, activating an uncontrolled cell division and tumour genesis. This is why it is wise to lock out the potential of such an incidence from happening.”

Some smokers fail to take into account a protected and natural way to give up smoking, as this can have a bearing on health issues later on in life. There are numerous time saving routes when it comes to giving up smoking, but do be aware that not all are beneficial in the long-term.

Hypnosis can help smokers to quit, but for it to work properly you need multiple sessions with a therapist … and it is costly. The traditional smoking cessation self-hypnosis route only works if you have cast iron willpower. This is why so many who have tried hypnosis have had a relapse or two.

Dependency on nicotine is a psychological thing, 90 percent to be exact. However, the physiological dependency on this addiction accounts for only 10 percent! Because it is all going on in the mind then this is the area that needs to be tackled before you consider using products that change your physiological balance. Research showed that downgrading to a lower tar brand of cigarette worked nowhere as near to helping the subject give up smoking compared to other smokers not using this method. All what happened to the test group was it took longer for them to quit smoking, as the belief they had was that smoking was now safer. In reality what had happened was that it had weakened their resolve to quit smoking.

Subliminal audios that target the subconscious mind can be quite potent, but they have a drawback! The actual subliminal message is self-defeating because in order for it to work you have to hear all what is being spoken, and invariably some of what you are supposed to hear is lost in the background music or sounds on the audio you are listening to. This really defeats the purpose of subliminal messaging. Where subliminals really work is in imagery, but that is no use for smoking cessation therapy.

Take a look at how many anti-smoking products are available and you start to become mesmerised by the array of products on offer. There are stick on patches that overload you with nicotine, then there’s nicotine gum that tastes like a camel’s … well you get the idea. There’s even what is called an ‘electronic cigarette’ that mimics the actions of a real cigarette but without the smoke, and still filling you up with nicotine. Why load up with nicotine when the very thing you want to break free from is still in your system.

When you want to break the vice-like grip nicotine has over you then the very last thing you need to be doing is keeping the hand to mouth action going, as that is part of the addiction. These electronic cigarettes do not help you break the cycle of smoking; in fact they could reinforce it!

Alternatives to the cigarette are becoming big business, especially in the guise of nicotine patches, gum, lozenges and so on. These products can seem to be a real substitute for nicotine intake until you examine the costs involved in continuously replacing these consumables … they are not cheap. The disadvantage to these products is that a modicum of willpower is required to assist them in working. What if there was another way to quit smoking, a way that did not require you to stick on patches and chew gum all day long? Well now there is something that is well ahead of all other smoking cessation products! Previously a clinical hypnotherapist, Stephen Richards does not advocate the use of hypnosis for smoking cessation treatment unless it is over a prolonged period and over a number of sessions carried out by a qualified therapist. This is why he guarantees there is no hypnosis or subliminal messaging or patches to stick on your arm in the product he has designed.

Targeting the exact areas of the brain with this pioneering technology takes no more than 30 minutes, hitting the very seat of the problem. The elated feeling of being freed from the vice of nicotine addiction can be experienced for the first time, in some cases, for many years. No longer are you a slave to nicotine, think of all the money you will save too.

Innovative self-help therapist and bestselling author Stephen Richards says, “I am extremely pleased with this product, it is well ahead of anything else out there that tackles smoking addiction. The old therapy disciplines that once tackled this are outdated; they have become jaded with the passage of time. I have developed a product that is exciting and genuine in what it does. This gives smokers a real chance to become and remain ex-smokers.”

This method designed by top self-help therapist Stephen Richards will help the smoker unleash the power of the unconscious mind within them which in turn will help eliminate their cravings for cigarettes and the urge to smoke. Now with this technology you can curb the cravings for nicotine as they come, one by one. Everything you need to quit smoking once and for all is within you right now.

The purpose of the technology is not so much about ‘reprogramming’ yourself, but it’s about teaching your mind how to do things differently. The audio on the “The Ultimate Stop Smoking CD” uses techniques that get right to the core of the problem in rapid time and also in programming the mind to release its repairing apparatus in a safe and natural way – thus preventing uncontrolled cell division and tumour genesis. Using up to date methods the technology inbuilt into this audio overcomes the need to use self-hypnosis and you can clearly hear every word being spoken.

Within this “The Ultimate Stop Smoking CD”, worldwide best-selling mind power author Stephen Richards has designed a very potent method to help you quit smoking.

How Can You Stop Smoking Naturally?

Most people who try to stop smoking naturally have also tried other methods that simply have not worked well for them. Relieving yourself from the burden of cigarettes is one of the best things that you can do for yourself, and it is definitely on of the most difficult. You can stop smoking naturally, and you might find that it is even easier in the long run than dealing with some of the other methods available.

You can always choose the unnatural route to stopping smoking. This usually includes NRT or medication, each of which carries its own particular set of risks that you might not like. Nicotine replacement therapy has received heavy criticism to the idea that giving you nicotine to get you away from nicotine is a little bit like giving you sugar when you have a cavity problem.

To stop smoking naturally, you will want to investigate the natural products that are on the market in order to deliver the type of relief you want without any of the side effects that you don’t want. However, many people stumble when the cravings become powerful and there seems to be no other way to curb the craving other than to light up.

If you want to stop smoking naturally, consider several options. First and foremost is your brain. There are several aspects to quitting that will challenge your mind and create more difficulties than just the physical cravings. Your emotions are more addicted to a cigarette than your body is. What do you do when you get stressed, upset, or angry? Reach for a pack.

Self hypnosis is a really great way to develop some of the more immediate relief that you need when the situation becomes stressful. In fact, if you can learn to engage in a self hypnosis, you may find that you’re not only able to stop smoking naturally but you are also more able to control your emotional responses all the way across the board.

It sounds difficult to stop smoking naturally in this way. How can you hypnotize yourself in the middle of the work day? How can you be sure that you aren’t fooling yourself into a hypnotic state that isn’t real? It doesn’t completely work that way. In fact, self hypnosis is really more about being able to find calm and peace despite some emotional tension.

Some people prefer to see a specialist to set up self hypnosis as an option. For a number of people, this little bit of control over their mind helps them develop a great deal of control over the body.

If you want to stop smoking naturally, look into herbal remedies that can help you rest and relax even more than a self hypnosis session. While you may very well be able to get through with just intuitive mind control over your body, having an herbal tea or available remedy can help you break through the struggle and land safely on the other side.
