I keep smoking even though I don’t want to. It makes me sick, but I can’t help it. I want to quit without using any of that quit smoking medication. Do you know a way? A good effective way?

Keep in mind, I’ve been smoking for 16 years now. And while you’re at it, how do I keep from gaining a bunch of weight while I’m trying to quit?

I have been smoking for about 20 years (I am 35) and would love to give it up but I am really scared that I won’t be able to do it. My husband quit 5 years ago and has been on my case ever since to do the same. I wish I could wake up tomorrow and be a non-smoker. The problem is I still enjoy smoking maybe 10 out of the 20 cigarettes I have each day.

I’m not a heavy smoker, I only smoke about 5 a day, but I still feel the addiction and I want and need to quit completely.
What is the most effective/successful way to quit smoking? I’ve been cutting down little by little. Is that the best way or should I just quit cold turkey and force myself to not smoke through sheer willpower?
