I’ve been smoking cigarettes for approx. 1 year+ now, & I have roughly 5 cigarettes a day. I want to quit smoking because I just tried to run a mile & found it incredibley difficult >_< If I quit smoking now, will the damage on my lungs improve or is it permanent?

I know smoking tabacco is bad and I’m trying to quit. I just wanted to know if I quit and then have a relapse, am I doing worse damage to my lungs because they’ve had some time to heal and then I go traumatize them again?

I was smoking for 4 years in total – the first 2 years was only 1 or 2 cigarettes a day, then up to a couple of nights a week I would smoke half a pack socially. In the last 2 years of smoking I was having about 8 – 10 a day, and more in social situations. I quit 4 months ago and am now 23. Is it likely that most of the damage will heal? Being 4 months since I quit, would my body have recovered completely by now?

I have smoked about 10 to 30 cigerettes for about 8 years. I have quit from today. Though I don’t have any physical complications so far as a result of my smoking, I want to know if there is a way to see what kind of damage my previous years of smoking may have done to my system.
And if any, would it be 100% reversible ?
